Leopoldo Gonzales Garcia Sr.

October 19, 1952 - June 16, 2020

Leopoldo G. Garcia Leo Gonzales Garcia, 67 of San Tan Valley, went to be with the lord on Tuesday, June 16th of 2020. Leo was born in Mathis, Texas on October 19th of 1952 to Manuel and Guadalupe Garcia. With a long career in construction and operating heavy machinery, Leo also made time to enjoy his love of playing and listening to music. He had the passion and talent to play his collection of guitars and his accordion, within his free time. Leo was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan with a plethora of Cowboy collectibles and trinkets. He also kept busy with projects around the home such as gardening and other small builds. Along with his passion towards life, came the love, support and positivity he gave to his family everyday. Leo was a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Leo is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jennie Garcia and their three children: Carmen (& David) Lara, Leopoldo (& Esther) Garcia Jr., Yolanda Garcia. As well as his two brothers, Mark (Patsy) Garcia , Ricardo (Olivia) Garcia and two sisters Stella Coronado, Irma (Jose) Gonzales. Also eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, niece, nephews and many more who will miss him beyond comprehension. Leo is preceded in death by his parents: Manuel and Guadalupe Garcia, his daughter Peda Madril and his brothers Ray and Erasmo Garcia. Leo was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and he put the “great” in great grandfather. Leo will be missed dearly, but he will always be known to his friends and family as the man, the myth, the legend.
