Jean "Jeanne" Marie Williams Koenig Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On the morning of Tuesday, February 8th, the weight of the World was reduced by exactly one soul. As the people of Planet Earth went about their daily tasks, our mother, Jeanne Marie Koenig, passed from this plane of existence to the next. While the majority of people were completely oblivious, this woman, who had quietly shaped the lives of a very select few, left us to join her husband, Garry Kenneth Koenig, in the Great Hereafter. To those that had the privilege of having met her, she left a positive and lasting impression. Equal parts sweet and sour, Jeanne was the type of woman who told you exactly how she felt, but kept her inner worries, fears, and tears to herself. In her youth, when her family was going through rough times, Jeanne stepped up, fulfilling both Big Sister and Surrogate Mother roles to her brothers and sisters, and fought to keep the family intact. She brought that same strength and caring to the task of childrearing, having raised five children of her own in her adult years. Jeanne was a very caring person with an incredible sense of humor that she would unsheathe on occasion, which generally left those present for the event with stories that have been retold for years – it was that legendary. It was Jeanne’s dream to visit Big Sur in California, and to feel the sand between her toes on the beaches of Waikiki, but alas, she never got to see these sights. Per her wishes, her ashes will be scattered into the Pacific Ocean at Big Sur, where the tides and currents will eventually allow her to reach Hawaii, just as she always wanted. No amount of time or distance will despoil our memories of Jeanne. To those that knew and loved her, her light shall never fade- she was that kind of person. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sisters and brothers will keep her memory alive forever. We love you, Jeanne, and we thank you for enriching, and in some cases creating, our lives while you were here. In time, we will see you again.
