Delia Ortiz Escobedo

January 15, 1931 - January 15, 2022

Delia (Dee) Ortiz Escobedo passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on January 15, 2022 in Mesa, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Escobedo and her beloved son, Estevan Ortiz Escobedo. She is survived by her four children: Dick Escobedo, Anita Duncan, Danny Escobedo and Jaime Escobedo. She leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the fifteenth and last child born to her parents, Mama Petra and Papa Nacho Ortiz in 1931 in Mesa, Arizona. She graduated from Mesa High School in May, 1948. She worked for Producers Insurance in Mesa for over four years. Her last employment was with Mesa Public Schools where she worked for 25 years as an elementary school secretary. All through her later years, she continued to do the things she loved, including reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, playing games on her iPad and cooking. Because she loved her grand and great grandbabies, she especially enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, and made many blankets to be donated to those in need. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Mesa Cemetery with a gathering of family and friends to follow.
